Just as Lime Wood is enveloped by and rooted in ancient forest, our weary souls and senses are (like it or not) rooted in nature. Humans are just not designed to function at full pelt, 24/7. Our minds and bodies pay the price.
We’ve listened to what our guests are looking for: lightly structured chill time and making the most of our calm, healing surroundings while, crucially, having some creative fun. So here’s a series of re-rooting retreats, events and workshops that tap into the remedial powers of the English countryside.
Enjoy an unforgettable New Year’s Eve at Lime Wood, where nature meets celebration in the heart of the New Forest. Think spa indulgence, wellness rituals, a seasonal Italian feast and dancing under the stars at our magical forest party to welcome 2026.
Join us at Herb House with Tracey Howes for an exhilarating combination of timed exposure in a traditional sauna and cold plunge paired with functional breathwork and the latest scientific insights. The class focuses on using the breath to help regulate stress, decongest the nose, improve sleep, reduce anxiety, and support hormonal fluctuations as well as improving self-awareness of the body. Includes: tea or coffee on arrival, workshop and 2 hours use of the spa after the workshop.
Hosted by award winning food writer Mark Diacono, and the whole Hartnett Holder & Co team, these evenings are a chance to go beyond the page, digging into the stories and kitchen secrets behind each author’s work. Think honest chat about their writing and creative process, dig deeper into all the things that shaped their careers, and what really fuels their love of food - all wrapped up in an evening that feels more dinner party than panel talk.
Join our resident Forager Sammie Longhorn for seasonal foraging, Sammie is a yoga teacher, forager, and community herbalist. Arrive at Lime Wood for 11am and meet at Herb House to head into the forest for a one-hour foraging walk and head back to our glasshouse for refreshments and a Q&A with Sammie.
Join Musician and Gong Master Rich Hale (ex-front man for chill-out band Kinobe) and our resident Breathwork Facilitator, Tracey Howes, as they collaborate for a deep dive into breath and sound.
Join Alex Irwin for our spring Forest Bathing: a journey into the Greenwood at the beginning of the season, just after Imbolc, the Celtic festival from the Wheel of the Year, and St Brigid’s Day. Experience the forest as it begins to stir from its winter slumber, venturing through the trees with moments of forest bathing, grounding, folklore and myth. Reconnect with your primal self and the quiet spirits of nature.
The walk will be followed by wild teas, drinks and seasonal snacks at Raw & Cured.
'Hosted' is an intimate kitchen table supper in the HH&Co Backstage Kitchen, with two ways to gather. Choose an evening hosted by Luke, or select dates where Angela joins him for something truly special. Each date is booked exclusively for one private group of up to ten guests, enjoying a relaxed four-course, Italian-inspired feast. Think less restaurant and more being welcomed into a great friend’s home for supper!
