Just as Lime Wood is enveloped by and rooted in ancient forest, our weary souls and senses are (like it or not) rooted in nature. Humans are just not designed to function at full pelt, 24/7. Our minds and bodies pay the price.
We’ve listened to what our guests are looking for: lightly structured chill time and making the most of our calm, healing surroundings while, crucially, having some creative fun. So here’s a series of re-rooting retreats, events and workshops that tap into the remedial powers of the English countryside, from expert oil painting sessions dotted around the grounds to delicious suppers using ingredients plucked from the forest floor.
Re-Balance: Alice Vincent Learning to Savour Retreat
We are looking forward to hosting the first savour retreat from author Alice Vincent, inspired by her newsletter, savour. Each week Alice’s writing encourages thousands of people to pause and appreciate the delicious things in life.
Alice’s retreat is all about making the most of Lime Wood’s surroundings, slowing down and savouring the beautiful forest landscape. Finally, delicious seasonal feasting will be on offer with menus specially designed by Chef Director Luke Holder, in collaboration with Alice.
Re-Create: Christmas Wreath Making
Get into the festive spirit and join Lime Wood’s creative florist Catherine Coombes for a wreath workshop on Tuesday 10th December. You can learn to create your very own beautiful door wreath made from traditional English spruces, seasonal greenery, berries and fruits. Tuck into delicious mince pies and a warming mulled wine (or two) whilst hand-crafting your Christmas masterpiece at Lime Wood.
