Ayurvedic at Herb House

Herb House is driven by the remedial powers of nature, making the most of our calming surroundings, and also a holistic approach to wellness (both mind and body). The principles of Ayurveda, an ancient natural healing process originating in India, chime perfectly with this holistic wellbeing ethos, particularly the practice’s tailored approach and its ability to weave into the everyday, rather than simply a ‘one-off’ reboot. The Ayurvedic goal is to stay healthy and happy, rebalancing through realistic practices and often small-but-mighty lifestyle tweaks. It’s precisely what Herb House is all about.

Our dedicated Ayurvedic therapist, Sheena Chandran will now be offering bespoke treatments designed to rebalance the mind, body, and spirit.

Meet Sheena

Ayurvedic therapist and Reiki healer, Sheena Chandran, obtained her certification of Ayurveda nursing and panchakarma from the renowned Amala Ayurvedic Hospital Research Centre in Kerala, India. Her Ayurvedic experience spans well over a decade, practising at Kamalaya Wellness Sanctuary in Koh Samui, Thailand.

She developed a passion for highly personalised care, and subsequently studied Reiki healing techniques to complement her Ayurvedic skills. Sheena strongly feels that when Ayurvedic and Reiki practices work in tandem, the journey to a place of physical and mental balance is more attainable.

Explore our treatments

From the circulation-boosting Abhyanga Treatment (where warm oil is poured across the body followed by long, energy mapped strokes), to the Lumbosacral therapy where a mix of herbal paste dough and warm oil is massaged into the lower back to strengthen the spinal cord, the new Herb House Ayurvedic treatments are designed to holistically improve various mind and body issues (particularly stress and lack of sleep).

Sheena’s calming and deeply relaxing Indian head massage improves sleep and circulation, while her energy-driven Reiki practices open and balance the chakras, promising to reduce stress and anxiety. Sheena and our Herb House team can suggest the best Ayurvedic therapies for each guest, tailoring treatments to any particular pain points or concerns.
