Smoothies can be a great way to incorporate more healthy foods into your diet – perfect to kick start your day or as an afternoon snack, and drinking a colourful array of ingredients can provide you with lots of essential vitamins, minerals, fibre, and antioxidants.
Our creative team of chefs create everything from scratch using fresh, wholesome, and local produce – some very close to home! The two smoothies below actually include our beautiful mint and lavender that you might be able to spot in the Herb House roof garden the next time you visit us.
Blueberry Lavender
Blueberries are considered a super food; they are an excellent source of vitamin C and contain good amounts of soluble fibre which helps keep the digestive system happy.
(Serves 2-4)
You’ll need…
- 5 cups blueberries, fresh or frozen
- 2 cups almond milk
- 1 handful spinach
- 1 tablespoon maple syrup
- 1 tablespoon dried lavender
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Pinch salt
What to do…
Blend all together in a high-speed blender until smooth and enjoy.
Grapefruit mint
Grapefruit contains a host of nutrients; they are a great source of vitamin A and are important in supporting the immune system to keep the eyes and skin healthy.
(Serves 2-4)
You'll need...
- 2 grapefruits peeled
- 2 bananas, frozen
- 1-inch piece ginger
- 1 cup mint
- 1 to 2 cups of water or coconut water
- 1 teaspoon vanilla
- Pinch salt
What to do…
Blend all together in a high-speed blender until smooth and enjoy.
