We are delighted to welcome back Stephanie Moore in a workshop with our Head of Fitness Justin on the importance of strength training for women. They will discuss why women should not shy away from the gym, why lifting weights is wonderful for our health and how to eat for strength. They will share advice on the best food choices as we get older and practical advice on getting the most from exercise even when we are short on time.
Women are not small men! This session will tell you all you need to know about strength training specifically for women and how to thrive with age. After you have enjoyed your welcome drink, Stephanie and Justin will discuss the topic for an hour followed by practical tips with two of our amazing trainers, Kim Polzer and Juliet Nicholas. The 3-hour session will conclude with a 30-minute Q&A and practical tips to take away. All attendees will also receive a 30-minute PT voucher in the Lime Wood gym with one of our trainers to get you started on your journey to living longer and stronger! (Vouchers will have a two month validity from 1st May - 30th June 2025. Please note that personal training sessions can be booked at Lime Wood independently to being a spa member).
You are encouraged to take part in the practical so please wear suitable gym clothing for the event.
The practical will consist of working in pairs on –
Squats (Resistance & Weight-Bearing Exercise)
Deadlift Technique (Strength Training for Bone & Muscle Health)
Step-Ups (Weight-Bearing & Functional Strength)
Push-Ups (Upper-Body Strength & Bone Health)
Skipping or Hopping (Bone Density & Cardiovascular Health)
Please note that this workshop is suitable for those age 18 and over.
